CAFRE of the University of Pisa
The University Centre for the Training and Education Research – CAFRE of the University of Pisa (IT) is the Centre in charge of research and training in the educational field, both at secondary and tertiary level. It is a public institution, located in Tuscany Region.
CAFRE members are University of Pisa researchers active in different subjects and have experience in European transnational co-operation projects at any level. Interdisciplinary research, such as Mathematics and Language, is one of their main concern.
The project co-ordinator, a mathematician, has been co-ordinating national and international projects, including three COMENIUS 2.1 projects. He has been also a member of the Working Group on MST appointed to carry out the European Commission Education Council’s objective 1.4 “Increasing the recruitment to scientific and technical studies”.
With respect to the project topic, the project coordinator is the author of an educational module on “Italian L2 and scientific language”. The module is part of a project of the Ministry of Education, University and Research aiming at providing teachers with the necessary skills for teaching pupils for whom Italian is a second language.
The project will also benefit from the relevant scientific contribution and great expertise of the Director of the Inter-Department Linguistic Centre - CLI, a member of CAFRE, who has been co-ordinating national and international projects and already collaborated with the project coordinator co-chairing an EC funded vocational course for cultural mediators in the field of human sciences and scientific education.
